De Kwakel, July 2026 – Cut hydrangea cultivation needs to become more sustainable. Growers are increasingly embracing this transition, partly out of necessity and partly out of genuine interest. Currently, hydrangea breeder HBA, Delphy, and Koppert are conducting a trial to explore how cut hydrangeas can be grown more sustainably from the start, without the use of chemical crop protection products.
