De Kwakel, July 2024 – In the 2024 season, HBA is conducting a pinching trial with several varieties and selections of hydrangea for cut production. A total of 23 varieties of the HBA Royal serie are included in the trial. The outcomes of the trial will be shared with growers who cultivate HBA varieties after the season ends. “When late in the season only classic hydrangeas are marketed, it is remarkable and commercially interesting if you can deliver fresh flowers,” says HBA crop expert Sjoerd Ederveen.
